Pelumi Nubi, a 28-year-old travel content creator, has embarked on a remarkable solo road trip from London, the vibrant capital of the United Kingdom, to the bustling metropolis of Lagos, Nigeria. Nubi’s journey is not only a personal quest but also a mission to defy the limits of possibility and inspire others to pursue their dreams.

On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, Nubi set out on this audacious expedition, aiming to demonstrate that the concept of “impossible” is merely a word. Her unwavering determination and unshakable resolve serve as a testament to the power of perseverance.

Detailing her ambitious route, Nubi outlined her plan, which involves traversing multiple countries. She intends to commence her journey in England, then proceeds to cross into France, continuing through Spain before reaching Morocco. From there, her path will take her through the challenging terrain of the West Sahara Desert, followed by Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Ghana, Togo, Benin, and finally, Nigeria, where she aims to reach the vibrant city of Lagos. Nubi’s journey is an exploration of possibilities, and she acknowledges that the road ahead may hold unforeseen twists and turns.

In an Instagram post, Nubi expressed her excitement about transforming her audacious dream into a tangible reality. She emphasized her desire to showcase that remarkable adventures like hers are attainable, particularly for solo black female travelers. Nubi seeks to highlight the beauty of exploring the African continent, pushing personal boundaries, and, most importantly, inspiring others to pursue their aspirations.

“As a solo black female traveler, I want to show that adventures like this are possible. It’s about exploring our beautiful continent, pushing my limits, and hopefully inspiring some of you to chase your dreams, too,” she wrote in her Instagram post.

Nubi acknowledged that embarking on such an ambitious journey is not without its challenges. She revealed that, while some days are filled with boundless excitement, there are others when doubt creeps in. Nevertheless, she is undeterred by the uncertainties, as her commitment to this journey is driven by the pursuit of freedom, spontaneity, cost-efficiency, and the thrill of stepping out of her comfort zone.

In 2022, Pelumi Nubi proudly declared that she had visited an impressive 77 countries by the age of 27.
