Published on

Nigerian singer and songwriter Olubankole Wellington, widely known as Banky W, has successfully undergone his fourth cancer surgery, an ordeal he shared with his followers in an Instagram post. Banky W, celebrated for hits like “Made For You,” used his platform to express deep gratitude towards his support system and reaffirm his faith, which he credits for his recovery.

In the post dated Thursday, Banky W didn’t just share news of his medical challenge but also his triumphant score against cancer, writing, “Christ 4 – Cancer Tumors 0.” He discussed the unwavering role of faith through his health struggles, stating, “Sometimes, your faith in God will not prevent the storms from coming… but it will carry you through them. Faith won’t always stop you from hurting, but it will help you heal, and it will help you deal.”

Banky W elaborated on the spiritual reassurance he clings to, citing biblical promises that weapons formed against him would not prosper and that God would provide defense against the adversary. His message aimed to uplift and inspire those facing their battles, emphasizing the power of divine presence over worldly challenges.

The artist extended heartfelt thanks to his wife, family, friends, and pastoral team for their love, prayers, and support throughout his health journey. He also acknowledged the exceptional care he received from his medical team, Dr. James Onyewu of the Center for Advanced Specialty Surgery and Dr. Akin Adenuga of Euracare, alongside their supporting staff.

Banky W’s battle with cancer began several years ago, and throughout, he has been open about his medical journey, using his experiences to encourage and motivate others facing similar challenges. His latest surgery marks another victory in his ongoing fight against the disease, a victory he declares is definitive, hoping it’s the last he has to face.

“We have the victory yet again. Now and forever, in Jesus’ name,” he affirmed, concluding his post with a verse from Romans 8:28, reinforcing his belief in God’s benevolent plan for those who love Him.
