Odili: Fubara Stops Wike from Turning Rivers into Private Estate

The former Governor of Rivers State, Dr Peter Odili, has commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his courage to resist what he termed attempt by Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister to turn Rivers State to a private estate.

Odili’s commendation

At a Christmas ballad held to commemorate Governor Fubara, Odili praised Governor Fubara’s undaunted resilience in the face of a year long political crisis which began in October 2023.

“The challenge that governor Fubara confronted, prevented a man’s quest to capture Rivers State as a private estate, Rivers people were emancipated, and the order of governance was steadied, and civil servants are happier,” he said.

Governor Fubara’s response

Governor Fubara thanked Rivers people and divine intervention for his strength, he is believed to be emerging victorious, according to results so far announced.

“Each and everyone in here draws my strength.” God Almighty remains the ultimate game changer,’ he stated.

He further promised that he would still continue to work on the progress of the state, promising Rivers State more prosperity in 2025.

State leaders key support

Victor Oko Jumbo, Rivers State Assembly Speaker testified that Governor Fubara prodded legislators to stand their ground during the crisis.

Divine intervention was responsible for the liberation of the state, declared chief judge Simeon Amadi, who praised Governor Rochas Okorocha for his resilience.

Fubara’s successful governance received an applause from a former Transport Minister, Abiye Sekibo, as he exclaimed how he blended leadership styles from Odili.

Commitment to progress

The governor Fubara also promised continuity with his promise that his administration wouldn’t give in to tyranny and oppression.

“We’ll remember that it’s a shift job what we’re doing here today. I will leave when it’s my time. And I will return and someone will take my place,” he further said.
