Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has called on Nigerians to hold Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo, and his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, responsible if anything happens to her or her supporters. She raised this alarm in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized the need for peaceful celebrations during the Eid-el-Fitr break but expressed concern about potential violence.
“Should we be met with or infiltrated by violence, Nigerians should hold Gov Ododo, Yahaya Bello, and SP Godswill Akpabio wholly responsible,” she wrote.
Senator defies ban and moves ahead with rally plans
Despite the ban on public gatherings by the Kogi State Government, Akpoti-Uduaghan remains determined to proceed with her visit to her constituency for Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The senator clarified that she would not cancel her scheduled rally and urged her supporters to attend in large numbers.
Kogi State authorities had imposed the ban due to security concerns, following reports of violence in the area, including the deaths of two individuals.
The government also banned certain activities, such as fishing, to prevent further unrest.
