KEY POINTS

  • Dr. Ojo Ademola sues for contempt over disobedience of a court order.
  • A court order issued an injunction against trespass activities on Ademola’s Lekki properties.
  • The doctor Ademola files applications to disqualify a law firm because it presents a conflict of interest.

A medical doctor named Dr. Ojo Ademola filed a notice of consequences for disobedience to a court order against former Lagos State Task Force head Engineer Peter Omotosho alongside both Starmark Finance Company Limited and Mr. Tunji Solaja for their alleged wrongful entry onto his Lekki Lagos land property.

Doctor sues, legal claims and proceedings

A court order issued by Justice Akinkunmi Idowu on December 10, 2024 currently forms the basis of the case that plays out at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja.

Dr. Ademola received a judicial order that blocked all trespassing as well as harassment and prohibited activity at Plot 1 Block 4 Lekki Peninsula.

Dr. Ademola approaches the court to prevent the law firm of Lagos State Attorney General Lawal Pedro (SAN) & Associates from representing Starmark Finance because he sees a conflict of interest.

Through his application to the court Dr. Ademola seeks annulment of the February 18, 2025 order that granted Starmark Finance official permission to change their representation.

Continued trespass despite court order

Through his attorney Mr. Ayodele Osanyinlusi Dr. Ademola states that defendants continue to trespass his property after the court issued an injunction. Through his submission the defendants utilize police forces alongside different means which prevent him from peacefully using his property.

Dr. Ademola obtained all necessary permits for property ownership from Churchgate Nigeria Ltd. after legally purchasing the land in 2020. Dr. Ademola intends to construct a first-rate specialist hospital facility within this location.

Appeal for intervention

Dr. Ademola demands assistance from President Bola Tinubu along with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu because suspected land grabbers endanger both his financial investment in his project and its planned hospital’s operations.

The lawyer Osanyinlusi showed great surprise about the continued trespassing despite prosecution recommendations as Doctor sues.

Next steps in the case

Dr. Ademola plans to submit an application for committal against the defendants through Form 49 before the April 10, 2025 court hearing.
