  • Williams accomplished notable milestones, including the construction of a 6.2 mmscfd CNG mother station in Ogun State, the creation of mini-LNG centres, and the deployment of Auto-CNG delivery systems for Dangote Cement’s fleet of vehicles.
  • His appointment aligns with Nigeria’s initiatives to advance affordable and environmentally sustainable energy, thereby supporting the nation’s goals of economic resilience, energy security, and regional industrial growth.

Tetracore Energy Group has announced the appointment of Mr Dayo Williams as the new Managing Director of its subsidiaries, demonstrating the company’s commitment to advancing domestic gas utilisation, promoting sustainable energy development, and fostering industrial transformation in Nigeria.

In a press release earlier reported by Energy News Africa Plus, Mr. Williams formerly the Programme Executive at Tetracore Energy Group was announced as responsible for guiding the strategic direction, managing operations, and overseeing the expansion of Tetracore Energy Limited, Tetracore Gas Limited, and Tetracore CNG Solutions Limited. His promotion reveals Tetracore’s commitment to strengthening Nigerian leadership in driving the continent’s energy transition.

A Nigerian Leader Influencing the Energy Transition

A highly experienced energy executive with over 15 years of expertise in commercial law, business development, and energy transactions, Mr. Williams has been instrumental in advancing innovative gas-to-power ventures in Nigeria and internationally.

His notable achievements encompass the development of a 6.2 mmscfd CNG mother station in Ogun State and the creation of mini-LNG facilities aimed at supporting industrial clusters, thereby enhancing Nigeria’s domestic gas infrastructure. He also oversaw the development of the 5.2 mmscfd main station in Tema, Ghana, a significant milestone that advances the regional gas network in West Africa.

Under his leadership, Tetracore has expedited the expansion of its Auto-CNG distribution network, which now supplies Dangote Cement’s expanding fleet of CNG vehicles, while leading the development of integrated gas-to-power solutions to meet Nigeria’s industrial energy requirements.

In addition to his corporate achievements, Mr. Williams serves as Deputy Chairman of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) Power Sector Group, where he plays a key role in shaping national energy policies on tariffs, grid decentralisation, and gas-to-power frameworks.

Progressing Nigeria’s Sustainable Energy Objectives

Under Dayo Williams’s stewardship, Tetracore has solidified its position as Nigeria’s premier gas trading enterprise, with strategic facilities in Ogun State, Benin, and Ghana, along with a mobile refuelling unit at Dangote Cement’s Ibese plant.

Mr. Olakunle Williams, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Tetracore Energy Group, stated:

Dayo’s appointment exemplifies his robust leadership and commitment to the advancement of Tetracore. His demonstrated track record will support our efforts to provide more sustainable and dependable energy solutions during Nigeria’s ongoing restructuring of its energy sector.

Expressing his enthusiasm regarding the new position, Mr. Dayo Williams remarked:

It is a privilege to lead an organisation that advocates for innovation and sustainable energy throughout Africa. I look forward to collaborating closely with our teams to enhance energy access, advance renewable energy initiatives, and reinforce Nigeria’s strategic position within the regional energy market.

This appointment corresponds with the Federal Government’s emphasis on domestic gas utilisation, decentralised power infrastructure, and enhancing energy access for industries, all of which are integral to Nigeria’s strategy for growth through energy development.

It emphasises the emergence of Nigerian-led initiatives in Africa’s energy transition, establishing the country as a vital contributor to developing a sustainable and inclusive energy future.
