Delta Air Lines has inaugurated its first nonstop service between Atlanta and Marrakech, marking a major step in US–Morocco air connectivity and expanding the carrier’s African footprint.

The inaugural Boeing 767-400ER flight landed at Marrakech Menara Airport on October 26, opening a three-times-a-week route that connects Morocco’s “Red City” to more than 125 US destinations through Delta’s Atlanta hub.

With the launch, Delta becomes the first US airline to operate a direct Atlanta–Marrakech route, aimed at deepening trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between both nations.

Delta expands Africa network with new Marrakech route

Christine Marchand-Pardo, Delta’s Managing Director for EMEAI Operations, said the route reflects the airline’s “commitment to connecting the US and Africa.”

“This expansion opens the door to one of the world’s most vibrant destinations,” she said. “We’re delivering convenience and Delta’s signature premium experience with lie-flat seats, curated dining, and fast Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members.”

The route, designated ATL–RAK, will operate three times weekly, departing Marrakech on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and from Atlanta on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. While between December 18 and January 6, 2026, flights will increase to daily service to meet holiday demand.

The Boeing 767-400ER service features Delta One, Premium Select, Comfort, and Main Cabin options, offering over 1,000 hours of in-flight entertainment and free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members.

Travellers from cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Miami, and Chicago will now enjoy seamless one-stop access to Morocco via Atlanta.

Since 2006, Delta has carried 7.5 million passengers to Africa and now operates in six African cities — Accra, Lagos, Dakar, Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Marrakech.

Finally, the airline said the new route underscores its investment in international growth from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest and most connected hub.
