  • NYSC Batch ‘C’ registration aims to ensure wider participation.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has pushed back the deadline for online registration for its 2025 Batch ‘C’ prospective corps members (PCMs) until midnight on November 11. This gives thousands of Nigerian graduates more time to sign up.

Caroline Embu, the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, made the announcement on Saturday in Abuja. She said that the decision was made after many applicants reported having trouble with the registration portal.

Embu said that the extension is meant to help people who want to join the corps but couldn’t finish their registration because of network problems and high portal traffic. “We’re sorry for any trouble this may have caused our valued PCMs,” she said. “We want to assure everyone that we are working around the clock to fix the problems and make sure they have a smooth registration.”

Portal traffic goes up as graduates hurry to sign up

Since the registration portal opened earlier this week, a lot of people have had trouble with slow uploads, long verification times, and payments that weren’t fully processed. Embu says that the NYSC’s technology team has been working with service providers to make the platform more stable and cut down on downtime.

Sources in the scheme said that more than 150,000 graduates from Nigerian and foreign universities have tried to register so far, which is one of the highest early participation rates in recent years. The increase shows how important the NYSC program is and how badly graduates want to get into the next orientation stream.

Extension was meant to make sure that everyone was included and treated fairly

Embu stressed that the NYSC management was still dedicated to being fair and open during the mobilisation process. She said that the new deadline would give all qualified candidates, especially those in remote areas or with bad internet connections, time to finish their registration without losing their right to vote.

The statement also told applicants to check that their schools were real and that all of their documents were uploaded correctly. It warned that lying on records or registering twice would make them ineligible.

Orientation camp is planned for the end of November

The NYSC hasn’t officially announced when the Batch “C” Stream I orientation course will start, but sources inside the organisation say it could start in the last week of November, as long as registration and verification are finished.

The NYSC told everyone who wanted to join the corps to take advantage of the extra time and finish their registration before the portal closes at midnight on November 11.
