All shortlisted applicants enrolled in Nigeria’s ongoing online computer-based test have been advised by the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board to log in 30 minutes prior to the test time each day.

Early login crucial for CBT candidates

The board’s secretary, retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril, said in a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday that the exam phase, which started the same day, will continue until the next week, with daily sessions beginning at 9 a.m.

According to Punch, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Correctional Service are the four paramilitary organizations under the board, and the online test is a component of their current hiring process. Jibril said only candidates scheduled for each day’s session would be able to check on, as the system will open 30 minutes before the exam begins.

Civil Defence CBT continues through next week

He advised applicants to adhere closely to the exam guidelines, pointing out that the system is set up to identify instances of cheating, outside intervention, and device manipulation.

“The entire CBT will be AI-proctored,” Jibril stated. Candidates are advised to use a suitable device, ideally a laptop, and to make sure they have a consistent power source and internet connection. Tablets and phones can function, but disruptions like incoming calls or switching apps will cause violation notifications to sound. Automatic disqualification will result from repeated infractions.

Candidates who lose connectivity during the test can reconnect within the allotted time and resume where they left off, he noted.

The board had earlier issued the names of shortlisted candidates on October 30, signifying the latest round of its recruitment campaign for the paramilitary services.
