KEY POINTS

  • The confirmed arrest video intensifies online debate.
  • Kaka Igbokwe verifies 2Baba’s airport altercation.
  • The viral clip renews scrutiny over the 2Baba arrest video.

Kaka Igbokwe, former manager of Nigerian music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has confirmed the authenticity of the viral 2Baba arrest video that resurfaced online over the weekend.

The clip shows the singer in handcuffs at London’s Gatwick Airport and reignites debate months after 2Baba denied the incident.

Viral arrest video stirs new controversy

The tension began after 2Baba travelled to London with his pregnant wife, Natasha Osawaru, for a concert tour. He missed an October 2 performance, prompting rumours that he had been detained. The video, circulated widely on December 1, shows police officers speaking with him before escorting him out of a duty-free area.

Igbokwe, appearing on Daddy Freeze’s Instagram Live session, confirmed that “everything you heard about the couple’s face-off was true.” He said he was on the same flight and part of the London team managing logistics around the tour. According to him, the argument started when Natasha became upset that 2Baba walked ahead with fans and entered a shop, leaving her behind after they landed.

When 2Baba noticed she was no longer beside him, he rushed back. But the fight had already gotten worse, catching the notice of airport security and police, which led to his short imprisonment.

New posts revive old rumours around 2Baba arrest video

Weeks ago, the event made headlines when 2Baba posted a video saying he missed the show because of a medical emergency, not a fight with his wife. His denial had calmed the story temporarily.

That changed when blogger Tosin Silverdam uploaded what he called “new evidence” on December 1 two clips showing the argument and the moment police intervened. He claimed Natasha reacted out of jealousy as fans surrounded the singer.

Screenshots shared across social media show officers speaking with 2Baba outside a duty-free store before leading him away. Commentary around the footage has since surged, pulling the couple back into an unwelcome spotlight even as neither has issued fresh statements.
