KEY POINTS

  • Anthony Joshua lost his trainer and strength coach in a fatal crash during a visit to Nigeria.

  • He honoured them with a tattoo reading “Latz Sina” and shared an emotional tribute online.

  • The driver involved faces multiple charges while investigations into the accident proceed.

Former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has honoured two of his closest associates following a devastating car accident that claimed their lives.

The crash, which occurred on December 29 during a visit to Nigeria, killed his personal trainer Latif Ayodele and strength coach Sina Ghami, leaving the boxer mourning what he described as the loss of his “left and right.”

Joshua recently visited Fulham Tattoo London, where he quietly got a tattoo reading “Latz Sina” in tribute to his late friends.

The tattoo studio revealed his visit in a social media post, expressing surprise that the boxing star walked in unannounced for his first session.

Emotional Statement and Public Gratitude

Breaking his silence in a heartfelt Instagram video, Joshua admitted the tragedy has been difficult to process, noting he has experienced loss before but never like this.

He also publicly thanked first responders, local residents who prayed at the crash scene, and medical personnel at Lagoon Hospital Ikoyi for their efforts.

He extended appreciation to notable supporters including businessman Femi Otedola, industrialist Aliko Dangote, and British diplomat Simon Field, crediting them for helping coordinate his medical return to the United Kingdom after the incident.

Authorities charged the driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, in January with multiple offences, including dangerous and negligent driving, as investigations into the fatal crash continue
