Traditional rulers from all 179 communities in Anambra State will attend alongside monarchs from other parts of the country, and APGA has mobilised members from every one of the state’s 326 political wards for the occasion. While the streets of Awka were already animated ahead of the event, with residents and visitors marking the moment.

Soludo sets tone for second term

The governor began the transition weekend with an interdenominational thanksgiving service at the International Convention Centre in Awka on Sunday, where he closed out his first term with gratitude and a public pledge. He also promised to deepen the developmental strides of the first four years and tackle insecurity more aggressively in the second.

Soludo also committed to inclusive governance, telling attendees that every resident of the state, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation, would have a place in the administration he was about to begin.

Ahead of the Soludo second term inauguration, security agencies deployed personnel to strategic locations across Anambra. Finally, the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Federal Road Safety Corps all stationed officers at key points to manage the large crowds expected at and around Alex Ekwueme Square.
