Former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Delta North senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made the declaration at his residence in Asaba, where he was flanked by prominent political figures and stakeholders from across the district.

In a notable moment during his declaration, Okowa apologised to his supporters for previously backing Senator Ned Nwoko, describing the decision as a “mistake.”

He explained that his renewed ambition stems from what he called a “call to serve,” pledging to better represent the interests of the people if elected.
