The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, explained that the fee structure is aimed at ensuring a transparent and competitive primary election process. He added that the early release of the timetable is intended to give aspirants enough time to prepare and meet all requirements.

In a move to encourage broader participation, the party’s National Working Committee approved concessions for female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities. While these groups are required to pay the full expression of interest fee, they will receive a 50 percent discount on nomination forms.

The timetable shows that the sale of forms will run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, with submission closing on May 4. Screening for governorship and legislative aspirants is scheduled for May 6 to May 8, while presidential screening will take place on May 9.

The list of cleared aspirants in the APC will be published on May 11, followed by an appeals process on May 12 and 13.

Party primaries are set to begin mid-May, with the presidential primary scheduled for May 15 and 16. House of Representatives primaries will hold on May 18, Senate primaries on May 20, state assembly primaries on May 21, and governorship primaries on May 23.
