KEY POINTS
- Some candidates are seeing “No Result Yet” because they are underage, not any technical problem.
- JAMB requires candidates to be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026.
- Underage candidates can still qualify if they score 320+ and perform strongly in further screening.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has addressed concerns from candidates and parents about why some 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results are showing “No Result Yet.”
According to the board, many parents reached out after their children were unable to access their results, raising fears that there might have been a technical issue with the system.
However, JAMB has made it clear that this message is not due to any error or malfunction.
JAMB Clarifies the Real Reason
JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, explained that the “No Result Yet” message is specifically linked to a category of candidates, those who are underage.
He stated that results for these candidates have not been released yet, which is why they are seeing that message when they try to check.
In simple terms, the system is working fine, it is just withholding certain results based on eligibility rules.
JAMB reiterated that candidates must meet a minimum age requirement to be eligible for the UTME.
According to the board, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are allowed to register and sit for the exam.
This rule is part of the existing guidelines aimed at ensuring students are academically and mentally prepared for higher education.
JAMB explained that only candidates who meet the exceptional performance criteria will move forward to the next stage of screening.
Even at that stage, admission is not automatic, but they may be considered under special provisions.
For now, the board emphasized that results for underage candidates remain withheld until the necessary conditions are met.
