Abdulrahman Haske has concluded arrangements to officially declare his intention to contest the Adamawa State governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The declaration is scheduled to take place on April 25 at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, where a large turnout of supporters and political stakeholders is expected.
According to Abdulgaffar Ahmed, Haske’s publicity secretary, the rally is projected to attract about 50,000 participants, including APC leaders, political allies, youth organisations, women groups, and other key stakeholders from across the state.
Ahmed noted that the event will go beyond a formal declaration, as it will also feature an endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, reflecting alignment with the party’s national leadership.
Policy vision and agenda
A major highlight of the rally will be the unveiling of Haske’s policy blueprint, known as the Adamawa A.R.I.S.E. Agenda. The framework is expected to focus on key areas such as accountable governance, economic resilience, infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and improved security.
Ahmed explained that the agenda is designed to build on existing achievements in the state while introducing reforms aimed at accelerating socio-economic development.
In the build-up to his declaration, Haske has reportedly secured widespread endorsements from party stakeholders and various interest groups within Adamawa.
Ahmed revealed that during the recent APC congresses in the state, several prominent leaders and members publicly expressed support for Haske, describing him as a capable leader with a clear vision for the state’s future.
The statement also highlighted endorsements from 265 women groups, who backed his candidacy based on his grassroots engagement and philanthropic efforts. These include the distribution of food items, agricultural inputs, and support initiatives during Ramadan targeted at vulnerable communities.
Support groups such as the Renew Team for Unity, Progress and Initiative Forum and the Making Adamawa Great Again movement have also declared their backing for his ambition.
