Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term by signing his nomination form ahead of the 2027 elections.

Umahi described the move as signing a “victory form,” signalling confidence in the president’s leadership and a commitment to sustaining the administration’s policies and achievements.

According to Umahi, the endorsement reflects a broader push for continuity, stability, and consolidation of progress made under the current government.

He noted that maintaining consistent leadership is critical for achieving long-term national goals, especially as the country continues to implement key reforms across multiple sectors.

Focus on Infrastructure and Development

The minister highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, particularly in road construction and rehabilitation, as major achievements of the administration.

He stated that these projects are vital to Nigeria’s economic growth and that the progress recorded so far provides a strong foundation for further development if the current leadership continues.

The presidential nomination process of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has already begun, with forms reportedly obtained on behalf of President Tinubu by James Faleke.

The forms, valued at ₦100 million, officially signal the start of Tinubu’s re-election campaign within the ruling party.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027.

Governorship and State Assembly elections are set to follow on February 6, 2027, marking the next major electoral cycle in Nigeria’s democratic process.
