  • Buba said he joined the race after being encouraged by people in his constituency to serve them.
  • The APC aspirant is seeking to represent Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

Mahmud Sadis Buba, a 30-year-old person living with disability, has successfully passed the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives from Kaduna State.

Buba, popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, is aspiring to represent the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

He lives with dwarfism, a condition that affects physical growth and development.

The aspirant recently attracted attention online after a video from his APC screening exercise surfaced on social media.

‘People Called Me To Serve’ — Buba

Speaking during the screening process, Buba said he decided to contest after receiving encouragement and support from members of his constituency.

According to him, his ambition is driven by a desire to serve the people rather than personal interest.

“I am not doing this for myself. It is from the people. People called me to serve them, and I will serve,” he said.

Buba also disclosed that he is the first child in a family of nine children and holds a Senior Secondary School Certificate qualification.

Mahmud Buba is seeking to unseat Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, who won the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat in 2023 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Abdullahi later defected to the APC and is currently seeking re-election on the platform of the ruling party.

Buba’s emergence has generated conversations online, with many Nigerians reacting to his determination to participate actively in the political process despite living with a disability.
