• Party creates committees to drive mobilisation and election strategy
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to inaugurate its national campaign council ahead of the forthcoming Ekiti State governorship election, in a move aimed at strengthening its mobilisation and election strategy.
The inauguration is scheduled for Wednesday at the Kashim Shettima Hall of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, according to the party’s national publicity secretary, Felix Morka.
The campaign council will be chaired by Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, while Senate President Godswill Akpabio will serve as co-chairman.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele has been appointed as secretary of the council.
The APC said the council is made up of serving and former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly, and other senior party stakeholders.
According to the party, the council has been mandated to coordinate and oversee all campaign activities leading up to the governorship election in Ekiti State.
Sub-Committees for Election Strategy
The party also disclosed that several sub-committees have been established to handle different aspects of the campaign.
These include committees responsible for election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots engagement, logistics, protocol, media and publicity, security, women mobilisation, youth mobilisation, and secretariat functions.
APC said the structure is designed to ensure a coordinated and effective campaign across all levels of engagement.
Speaking on the development, Felix Morka said the inauguration marks the formal commencement of mobilisation activities across Ekiti State ahead of the election.
He added that the initiative is aimed at positioning the party strongly for victory at the polls through a well-structured and coordinated campaign effort.
According to him, the campaign council will play a key role in driving outreach, strengthening grassroots support, and managing campaign logistics.
The APC’s announcement signals an early and structured preparation for the Ekiti governorship contest, as political parties intensify efforts to consolidate their presence in the state.
With the campaign council now formed, attention is expected to shift toward mobilisation activities, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning ahead of the election period.
Party leaders say further details on campaign activities will be communicated as the inauguration proceeds and sub-committees begin their assignments.
