The top graduates from the University of Lagos’ 55th convocation, Samuel Badekale and Haroun Adebakin, were named the state’s ambassadors for education by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.

During a reception at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Friday, Abiodun also gave each of them a N10 million check as a token of appreciation for their academic achievements.
With a 5.0 GPA, the graduates were commended by Abiodun, who also said that their achievement had placed them on the route to greatness and made Ogun State proud.
“For yourselves, your families, the state, and Nigeria, I commend you for achieving this great honor,” Abiodun added. “You have been designated as our ambassadors for education. We hope that other students will be inspired by your accomplishments and want to work as hard and dedicatedly as you have.
Education ambassadors to inspire students across Ogun State
According to the governor, the ambassadors will interact directly with younger children through educational initiatives in order to motivate them.
“I can speak with them, but I might not be able to establish the same connection as you. Since you are in the same age range, you may identify with their goals, struggles, and experiences,” he stated. “As ambassadors, you will inspire them to strive for excellence, as you have done.”
In order to obtain continuous assistance in their chosen professional pathways, Abiodun advised the scholars to keep in regular contact with the Commissioner for Education.
“As a thank you for making Ogun State proud, we are supporting you today with these small checks of N10 million each,” he continued.
According to Punch, the governor highlighted education as a means of achieving achievement and described it as a vital instrument for combating poverty and opening doors.

He praised the students’ tenacity, reliability, and self-control, pointing out that their success in the challenging subject of cell biology and genetics showed their dedication to greatness.

Adebakin and Badekale thanked the governor in their speeches for his acknowledgement and assistance.
“The governor’s dedication to education is demonstrated by this honor,” Adebakin stated.
