Key Points

  • The PDP accuses the Rivers Sole Administrator of destroying all governance systems established by Fubara when he was in power.
  • The PDP rejected the accusations leveled against Nweke by describing them as untrue.
  • Judge Emiaso presents legal arguments against the validity of appointing the Sole Administrator.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holds Vice Admiral Ibom Ibas (retd) responsible for dismantling all governance structures that suspended Governor Siminialayi Fubara established in the state.

Dr. George Nweke receives criticism from PDP members because they state he serves as tool for Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike to spread lies against Fubara and his team.

Allegations and accusations, PDP alleges sole administrator

According to PDP Chairman Nname Ewor the emergency declaration of Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu lacks any reasonable basis. Ewor questioned both the relevance of the declared state of emergency and its potential outcomes since the situation did not face any war or natural disaster threat.

He wanted to understand if the government would use the position of the Sole Administrator to achieve peace or make the situation worse.

Along with these accusations Nweke made against Governor Fubara about his alleged bombing involvement and 2027 election promise to Bala Mohammed the PDP leadership refuted every claim.

Ewor declared the allegations from Nweke as completely untrue while accusing his opponent of serving Wike’s agenda to shame Fubara.

Response to Nweke’s allegations

The executive rejected those claims regarding the House of Assembly bomb by stating that police arrested the perpetrators followed by inadequate prosecution warranting case dismissal. Fubara held the legal right to meet with Senator Bala Mohammed even if he had not declared his intention to run for president during 2027.

Constitutional concerns

Justice Miakpor Emiaso (retd.) criticized the appointment of the Sole Administrator by President Tinubu because according to him it violated the constitution to transfer state funds to one person.

According to Emiaso the constitution makes no mention of Sole Administrator hiring or governor suspension which threatens democratic values, PDP alleges sole administrator .

Education Ministry’s action

The educational institution Bergview College faces deregistration from the Eastern Cape Department of Education because the principal did not file a critical report to authorities.
