Police Intensify Efforts to End Anambra ‘Sit-At-Home’

On Monday Anambra State experienced heightened security operations across the state aimed at stopping the disruptive sit-at-home order especially in Nnewi and Ihiala regions.

Security forces work to renew confidence in residents about their safety while bringing normal conditions back to the area.

Police intensify efforts with other forces

The Anambra State Police Command validated that all relevant organizations including the Nigerian Army and Navy and DSS and NSCDC and Nigeria Immigration Service along with local vigilante groups united for this operation.

Police intensify efforts in cooperation with other security forces to bring an end to this long standing issue, security forces have deployed front-line military units with tanks during increased state-wide patrols to fight against the enforced shutdown order and motivate commercial vendors to reopen their businesses.

Awka along with Onitsha residents together with additional local individuals received praise from Police Commissioner CP Ikioye Orutugu because they rejected the order and enabled economic activities to continue.

The enhanced patrols concentrate their efforts to preserve public safety while stimulating business operations specifically during Mondays when establishments normally close because of security threats.
