King Sunny Ade, the legendary Juju musician, dismissed rumours that he had been kidnapped or was missing. The music icon made this clear in a live video shared by his wife, Mrs. Bose Olubo-Adegeye.

This followed a social media storm ignited by his daughter, Damilola Adeniyi-Adegeye, who raised concerns about his safety.

On Monday, Damilola raised alarms, accusing her stepbrother, Dayo, of holding her father hostage and mismanaging his affairs. Damilola posted on social media, claiming Dayo had been “stealing” from her father and preventing access to him.

In her posts, she demanded Dayo’s arrest and questioned her father’s sudden disappearance and lack of communication.

In the video, King Sunny Ade reassured his fans that he was healthy and actively performing in shows, PUNCH reported. He mentioned performing in Lekki, Lagos, over the weekend and confirmed that he was heading to another performance.

He thanked his fans for their concern and clarified that no one had kidnapped him, expressing his gratitude for their love.

Punch reported that King Sunny Ade acknowledged that the confusion may have arisen because some of his children had not seen him recently.
