KEY POINTS

  • Professor Igbineweka states that any legal case involving President Tinubu in the past is now officially null.
  • According to the academic, Nigerians should refrain from criticizing the president and treat his office with respect.
  • He gives his support to every Nigerian leader, regardless of which ethnic group or political party they represent.

A Nigerian advocate and philanthropist, Professor Gaskin Igbineweka in the United Kingdom, has urged Nigerians to stop attacking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the current USA allegations against him.

Igbineweka, who is also the President of the Nigerian Welfare Club in the UK, said in a Benin City press release that the accusations of Tinubu’s alleged past conviction are no longer valid based on his acquittal in court.

Even if the President was convicted of a crime in the United States, the conviction was annulled and everything was removed from his record, according to Igbineweka.

Respect for the president should be a priority amidst the USA allegations, says the Professor

The elder statesman urged all Nigerians to support the presidency together, even while keeping their party differences aside and valuing national unity.

President Tinubu is the most important person in the world’s most populous Black nation. We should show him our respect, he replied. According to Igbineweka, he supports more than just individuals; he is ready to help any future Nigerian president just as patriotically.

He suggested that people in Nigeria pay more attention to improving the nation and vital reforms in governance than spend time talking about old controversies that no longer matter.

He maintains that political attacks only widen the gap among the public and put important national issues on the back burner, for example issues with education, infrastructure, and safety.
