IGP Disu redeploys senior police officers nationwide

Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu has ordered a major reshuffling of senior officers across the Nigeria Police Force, redeploying Assistant Inspectors-General and Commissioners of Police to state commands, headquarters departments, and specialised units as part of his push to sharpen the force’s operational structure.

According to a statement Tuesday by Force spokesman DCP Anthony Placid, the IGP Disu redeploys officers exercise targets positions considered critical to command effectiveness, leadership quality, and service delivery across the country. Furthermore, Placid said the postings align with the force’s broader commitment to strategic deployment of personnel at all levels.

AIG postings span operations, training, and zones

Among the AIGs, Disu sent Ado Emmanuel to Research and Planning at Force Headquarters, Joseph Eribo to the Department of Armament, Miller Dantawaye to the Department of Operations, and Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development.

Additionally, Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo moves to Police Accounts and Budget, Dahiru Mohammed heads to Zone 15 in Maiduguri, and Dankombo F. Morris takes over Zone 4 in Makurdi. Bello Shehu goes to Zone 14 in Katsina, while Olohundare Moshood Jimoh picks up Zone 2 in Lagos and Simeon U. Akpanudom heads to FCID Annex, Lagos.

State commands get new commissioners

The IGP Disu redeploys officers move also reshapes several state commands. Haruna Yahaya goes to Jigawa, Olugbenga Abimbola to Oyo, Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta, Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun, Michael Falade to Ekiti, and Yakubu Dankaro to Adamawa.

Meanwhile, Muhammed Ahmed takes the FCT Command and Olatunji Fatai moves to Lagos State Command. Beyond state postings, Akan Ezima becomes Director of NPF-NCCC Abuja, Ajo Geoffrey Ordue heads to INTERPOL Abuja, and Moses Ashu Otta takes SWAT in Abuja.

Disu charged all redeployed officers to apply their experience fully in their new assignments and to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and discipline at all times.
