Former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing personal reflection and a desire to explore new political directions.

In a resignation letter dated March 17, Madumere formally notified the party that his membership was terminated with immediate effect.

“I write to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) effective immediately,” the letter stated. He described the decision as difficult but necessary after careful consideration of his political journey within the party.

Madumere, who served as deputy governor during the administration of former Governor Rochas Okorocha, emphasized that his departure was aimed at pursuing new political opportunities. While he did not disclose which party he intends to join next, he urged APC leadership and members to understand his decision.

Madumere expresses gratitude for his relationship with APC

Despite leaving the party, Madumere expressed gratitude for the relationships he built within the APC. “It is my utmost desire and expectation that we all continue to maintain the cordial relationship we have built over the years in our collective desire to build a better Nigeria,” he said.

The resignation letter was addressed to the APC Chairman of Ezinihitte Ward in Mbiere, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State. Madumere’s exit marks a notable shift in the political landscape of Imo State as the former deputy governor looks toward new political avenues.
