Suspected terrorists carried out a brazen afternoon attack in Olodan, a community in the Ora District of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State. During the raid, a family of three — a husband, his wife, and their child — were abducted, sparking fear among residents.

In separate overnight operations, at least 15 people were kidnapped in Kajola and Idi-Iya Fulani Camp near Yaru in the Igbaja District. The coordinated nature of the attacks has heightened concerns about increasing insecurity across the region.

Rescue Efforts Fail, Residents Demand Action

Local security groups, including forest guards, hunters, and vigilantes from Ifelodun and neighbouring Isin LGAs, launched search operations but failed to rescue any victims. Residents have since called on government authorities and security agencies to urgently strengthen security presence and intelligence efforts in the area.

The latest incidents have intensified fears over worsening insecurity in Kwara South, with locals lamenting inadequate protection and slow response from authorities. As of the time of reporting, no official statement had been issued by the state government.
