The senatorial screening exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has produced major upsets, as several prominent aspirants including the son-in-law prominent businessman Chief Kola Daisi of were disqualified ahead of the party primaries.
Among those affected are the younger brother of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi and the son-in-law of prominent businessman Chief Kola Daisi, alongside other aspirants across Oyo’s three senatorial districts.
Documents from the screening panel confirmed that multiple contestants were not cleared to proceed to the primaries, effectively reshaping the internal race within the ruling party in the state.
One of the most notable casualties is Ajimobi Wasiu Adegboyega, younger brother of the late former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who contested for the Oyo North senatorial ticket but was not cleared by the screening committee.
Also disqualified is Kolapoboye Kola-Daisi, the son-in-law of Chief Kola Daisi, who was aspiring for the Oyo South senatorial seat.
Other aspirants who failed to secure clearance include:

APC Clears Select Candidates for Senatorial Primaries
Despite the wave of disqualifications, the party cleared several aspirants to proceed to the primaries across the three senatorial districts.
In Oyo North, Prof. Adeolu Olumide Akande and Hannah O. Ogunesan were cleared to contest.
For Oyo South, Hon. Aderemi Abari Oseni secured clearance, while Senator Yunus Akinwade was cleared for Oyo Central. Also cleared for Oyo North is retired Colonel Dr. Gbenga Adegbota.
