Goronyo: Tinubu committed to Nigeria’s growth

KEY POINTS

  • Goronyo says Tinubu’s road program reflects strong political will and national transformation.
  • He links the Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda to economic integration, connectivity and public confidence.
  • The minister praised the APC for what he called peaceful, transparent senatorial primaries.

President Bola Tinubu is driving Nigeria’s road infrastructure rollout with strong political will and a clear commitment to national transformation, Minister of State for Works Bello Goronyo declared Monday. Speaking in Sokoto, Goronyo argued that the scale of projects already under construction across the country reflects the president’s personal concern for socio-economic growth, not routine government activity.

Furthermore, Goronyo said the highways, bridges and access roads delivered under the Renewed Hope Agenda are already strengthening economic integration and improving connectivity between states. According to him, the works are also reinforcing public confidence in the Tinubu administration. Consequently, he argued, the president deserves continued political backing to consolidate the gains.

Goronyo defends RHA delivery

Specifically, Goronyo, through a statement issued by his media aide Abdullahi Mohammed, said the administration has moved well beyond road construction into broad welfare interventions. Moreover, he pointed to targeted social programs designed to cushion households against high living costs and to channel relief into vulnerable communities. Therefore, he insisted, Tinubu’s record extends across infrastructure, fiscal reform and citizen welfare.

In addition, Goronyo said the achievements recorded within a relatively short period have justified the confidence Nigerians placed in Tinubu at the 2023 polls. “The achievements recorded within a relatively short period have further justified the confidence Nigerians placed in Tinubu,” he said. Subsequently, he urged Sokoto delegates to reward that record with sustained political loyalty.

Sokoto East primary as stage

The minister spoke during the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary election for the Sokoto East Senatorial District. Additionally, he used the platform to commend the party’s national leadership for what he called the peaceful and transparent conduct of primary elections across the country. He said the exercise demonstrated internal democracy, political maturity and unity within the APC.

Meanwhile, Goronyo’s intervention lands as opposition figures intensify attacks on the administration over insecurity, fuel prices and inflation. However, the minister argued that the broader picture, anchored on road delivery and welfare schemes, shows steady progress. Furthermore, he said the president has matched campaign promises with measurable on-the-ground projects, particularly across the North West.

Political stakes climb in 2027

Subsequently, Goronyo reaffirmed his personal commitment to the Tinubu administration and predicted that current policies and programs would keep yielding lasting benefits. Moreover, he positioned the Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda as the central platform on which the APC will campaign in 2027, casting roads and social investment as voter-facing proof points.

Ultimately, Goronyo framed the choice ahead of Nigerians as one between continuity under a builder-president and a return to political stagnation. Therefore, he urged party members, traditional rulers and stakeholders in Sokoto and beyond to rally behind Tinubu’s re-election machinery. He concluded that the Renewed Hope Agenda needs more time, more support and another mandate to fully reshape Nigeria’s economic and social trajectory.
