  • The NDC has denied viral reports claiming primary election results have already emerged, calling them fake.
  • The party confirmed that its primaries are still set for May 29, 2026, meaning no outcome is possible yet.
  • It urged supporters and the public to disregard misinformation and rely only on official party communications.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has dismissed reports of purported primary election results circulating online, describing them as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the party’s National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, the party confirmed that its primaries will hold as scheduled on May 29, 2026. It stressed that no results could exist before the exercise takes place.

The clarification followed claims circulating on social media alleging that activist Aisha Yesufu had lost in the party’s Federal Capital Territory senatorial primary. The party dismissed the report as fabricated.

The party urged members of the public to ignore unofficial information, warning that only results released through its official channels should be regarded as valid. It reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and credible primary process.
