Personnel of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, supported by other emergency agencies, were deployed to the scene shortly after the alarm was raised.

The agency later confirmed that firefighters successfully extinguished the fire and brought the situation under control.

According to the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, the fire originated on the third floor of the 17-storey building, which also serves as a parking area.

She explained that the incident involved a stationary saloon car parked on the floor.

“Firefighters from the Ebute Elefun and Sari Iganmu Fire Stations promptly responded to the emergency and swiftly contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to other vehicles and sections of the building,” Adeseye said.

Adeseye disclosed that only the affected vehicle and its immediate surroundings suffered damage.

She added that no injuries or fatalities were recorded in the incident, while the quick intervention of firefighters prevented what could have been a more devastating outbreak.

Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the fire.
