The Nigeria Police Force has declared two men wanted in connection with the disappearance of 26-year-old Chukwunyere Esther Chinaza, a Nigerian woman who reportedly returned to Lagos from Dubai in June 2026.

Chinaza, an indigene of Imo State, was last seen on June 22 around the Shoreline axis of Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos State, after travelling to Nigeria with a male friend based in South Africa.

Her disappearance has left her family deeply concerned, with relatives saying they have been unable to determine whether she is alive or dead despite efforts to trace her whereabouts.

The police have since issued a Special Police Gazette Bulletin declaring Chinaza missing as investigations into an alleged conspiracy and murder case continue.

According to the police bulletin, Chinaza was last known to be around the Shoreline area of Banana Island, Ikoyi.

She was described as an Igbo woman, 26 years old, fair-skinned and of tall-to-average height. Her last known address was given as Horizon Estate, Ikate, Lagos State.

The police appealed to members of the public with useful information about her whereabouts to contact the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos, or the nearest police station.

Family Demands Faster Investigation

Chinaza’s family said their concern intensified after they were unable to establish contact with her following her disappearance.

One of her brothers told SaharaReporters that the family had received information suggesting that some individuals might be connected to the incident.

He alleged that Chinaza had been brought from Dubai to Lagos by a man and that she subsequently disappeared. The family, he said, has yet to find her or establish what happened to her.

The family has also expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of the investigation, urging the police to intensify their efforts to locate Chinaza and determine whether she is alive.

The family’s primary concern, according to her brother, remains finding Chinaza and obtaining clear answers about her whereabouts.

The police have separately declared Ajibola Obateru and Folawiyo Balogun Alagbado wanted over the alleged conspiracy and murder case.

In the bulletin concerning Obateru, the police alleged that he conspired with others to attack Chinaza, take her body to an unknown location and steal her personal belongings.

Obateru was described as a 33-year-old Yoruba man, approximately 5.9 feet tall, thin and fair-skinned, with an oval-shaped face. His last known address was listed as Ajoda New Town, Ibadan, Oyo State.
