The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has rolled out an online registration platform for both products and companies. The goal is to enhance efficiency and digitize traditional administrative methods. NAFDAC’s Oyo State Coordinator, Matthew Adeoye, introduced the new system, called NAFDAC Automated Products Administration and Monitoring System (NAPAMS), at a stakeholders’ meeting in Ibadan. He stressed that this system would expedite product registration.
Adeoye explained that NAPAMS allows users to submit product registration applications online, check approved items, and get immediate feedback. “This system lets applicants monitor their status from anywhere, marking a big shift from old methods,” he said.
Roseline Ajayi, Director of NAFDAC’s South West Zonal Office, addressed the wider implications of the initiative. She said the goal was to help stakeholders adapt to NAFDAC’s new direction and use the online portal effectively. Ajayi also spoke on the economic challenges the country faces and reminded businesses to uphold product quality and safety standards. “No matter our economic state, product standards must not falter,” she stressed.
Ajayi underscored the symbiotic relationship between NAFDAC and its stakeholders, emphasizing the critical role of the water and bakery sectors. “Both bread and water are essentials in our daily lives, warranting close attention,” she remarked, NAN News reported.
In his response, Oladejo Adegboyega, head of the Association of Table Water Producers in Oyo State, voiced the stakeholders’ unwavering support for NAFDAC’s mission. “We are united with NAFDAC in the quest to ensure top-quality products throughout Nigeria,” he declared.
