Delta Governor Praised for Revitalizing Nightlife, Infrastructure

Local leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Uvwie Local Government Area have praised Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his dedication to community development, particularly for bringing back the area’s nightlife through a streetlight scheme.

According to reports, this project and a significant flood control effort have enhanced safety and quality of life in Delta towns.

Leaders of the Uvwie LGA Legislative branch, represented by Hon. Rire Oketera and Hon. Gibson Akporehe, commended Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda for transforming Delta State and pledged their support for his leadership till 2031 in a statement released during a town hall gathering.

“Uvwie residents have witnessed enough advantages to continue supporting Governor Oborevwori for a second term,” they said.

Flood control and infrastructure projects earn local praise

Community members emphasized the governor’s dedication to tackling floods in Uvwie through the Water Storm Project in addition to the streetlight project.

According to Punch, the goal of this significant infrastructure project is to address the region’s persistent flood problems, which have impacted local companies and daily life.

Chief Emmanuel Edesiri Aguariavwodo, the governor’s senior political adviser, emphasized Oborevwori’s proactive approach to infrastructure development during his remarks at the town hall. This is a crucial component of the administration’s MORE Agenda, which aims to enhance roads, healthcare, and education.

Chief Solomon Okporua Ighrakpata, the political leader of Uvwie and the chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, stressed that Oborevwori had carried out important projects without accumulating state debt.

He characterized the governor as a “Good Resources Manager” who is empowering Deltans and generating opportunities.

Calls for continued support and focus on quality projects

The Chairman of Uvwie Local Government, Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni noted the governor’s collaboration with well-established companies for the realization of Effurun/Warri Flyover Project through the services of Julius Berger Nigeria Limited.

The governor applauded Oborevwori for not compromising on quality in public projects adding that the developments complement the rising support for the governor in the community.

The group also expressed their appreciation for Oborevwori’s commitment to “detribalized and inclusive” policies that span the entire state.

Their support they stated is not to the current term only but to the second term through 2031.
