Ogun NSCDC Deploys 3,150 Officers for Local Elections

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State has deployed 3,150 personnel to support the upcoming local government elections, aiming to ensure the safety of voters and maintain order.

The command’s head, Commandant RemilekOgun NSCDC deploys 3,150 personnel across Ogun for local polls.un Ekundayo, stated in an interview that officers will be stationed across Ogun’s 20 local government areas to prevent unrest and safeguard the election process.

In addition, Ekundayo emphasized that the deployment is part of the NSCDC’s core responsibility to protect lives, properties, and critical infrastructure.

Moreover, with a mission to maintain law and order, the NSCDC plans to deter any potential disruptions during the election scheduled for November 16.

NSCDC warns against election interference

Addressing potential threats to the election, Ekundayo issued a stern warning to any groups or individuals planning to disrupt the process.

However, she assured the public that the NSCDC will take “necessary actions” against anyone attempting to interfere or engage in illegal activities.

“The command is prepared to act decisively,” she stated, adding that any attempt to hijack the polls or incite violence would be met with swift enforcement.

According to Vanguard, Ekundayo urged citizens to cooperate with security personnel and to uphold peaceful voting standards.

Governor supports free and fair elections

Governor Dapo Abiodun has publicly endorsed the NSCDC’s security efforts, calling for transparent and credible local elections.

Moreover, Abiodun pledged to support initiatives that ensure a smooth electoral process, underlining his commitment to a fair election.

Furthermore, the Ogun State government, in collaboration with security agencies, is focused on promoting civic engagement and building trust in the electoral system, promising residents that measures are in place to ensure a secure and peaceful voting day.
