Adeleke Commends DSS For Arrest of Suspected Terrorists In Osun

The governor, Ademola Ademola Adeleke has commended the Department of Security Service (DSS) for their operation that has led to the arrest of the suspects who are suspected to be Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) members in Ilesa, Osun State.

His spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, said in a statement on Saturday that Adeleke commended the DSS for its intelligence efforts in conducting its operation.

Adeleke however said the ‘intelligence gathering machinery of the DSS has shown that our agencies of security are capable of addressing threats to the safety of our people.’

‘The arrests are a relief to the state and the nation,’ he said, confirming his government’s determination to work with security forces to protect lives and property.

The government support and community responsibility

According to Adeleke, Osun residents can expect his administration to prioritize security, and promised to continue to work with security agencies to ensure peace and stability.

‘I am the Chief Security Officer of Osun State and I will continue to protect my citizens safe.’ It is our government’s commitment to support the efforts to security to prevent any breakdown of law and order,” he said.

While the governor also continued to urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the authorities, he also asked residents to ensure that Osun remain a peaceful state.
