Allen Onyema, the CEO of Air Peace, has praised the Nigerian government for its efforts to make it easier for businesses in the aviation sector to conduct business.
After meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the presidential palace in Abuja, Onyema told reporters that despite global issues, the aviation industry is thriving thanks to government assistance.
Onyema emphasized how responsive the government is to the aviation industry, noting that new reforms are encouraging development and setting up Nigeria’s aviation sector for future growth.
Aviation sector recovers amid global challenges
Onyema pointed out that supply chain interruptions have presented difficulties for the aviation sectors globally, including Nigeria.
According to Vanguard, he commended the government for keeping lines of communication open with industry stakeholders in spite of these challenges.
“Supply chain problems have caused major disruptions in aviation around the world. Nigeria is not the only place like this. But the Nigerian government has heard our worries and is trying to make doing business easier again,” Onyema stated.
The head of Air Peace commended Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, for taking the initiative to reposition the industry. “You can see how well the minister is doing his job. We have high hopes that these efforts will soon provide even better outcomes,” Onyema continued.
Expansion plans and government collaboration
According to Onyema, Air Peace intends to start new international routes, such as flights from Abuja to London, and is also working on services to Houston and New York. He underlined how crucial government collaboration is to making these expansions possible, particularly by addressing the various fees imposed on airlines.
“We appreciate the government’s attention and look forward to further reductions in the various charges that impact our operations,” Onyema said.
In order to improve corporate operations in the aviation industry, he also conveyed confidence that the government will keep removing obstacles.
