Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf warned members of the state executive council to show unity, accountability and transparency in their roles.

In remarks during the 23rd executive Council meeting held at the Government House Wednesday, Yusuf said disloyalty and division within the cabinet is not what the country needs.

The call for unity, accountability

In a statement by his spokesperson Sanusi Bature, the governor also reaffirmed the importeness of loyalty, mutual respect and teamwork in the council.

He especially asked the seven newly inaugurated commissioners to be committed to the highest level of commitment and honesty.

Yusuf said he wanted to stress that he expected nothing less than accountability, commitment and dedication to duties from all of you. We would deal with anyone who tries to divide us here.” This is a new era.”

Furthermore, Governor Yusuf highlighted the return of the 150 students by the state foreign scholarship as one of his administration’s achievements in 2024.

Those who finished their second degrees in India would be granted automatic employment into medical health and engineering areas.

He asked the state Head of Service and Commissioner of Health to, immediately, finalize arrangements for the integration of the foreign trained professionals into the state workforce.

He also pledged to see the 2025 budget amounting well over ₦719 billion pass, which represents a commitment to ensuring our socio economic growth in education, health and infrastructure development.

Setting the tone for 2025

Address to the people, Governor Yusuf defines the path the Kano State government will follow this year of the renewed pursuit of development and unity. That’s his warning to commissioners, underscoring just how important teamwork is to accomplishing the administration’s ambitious goals.
