New Boko Haram terrorist attack to hit Yimirmugza village in Chibok, Southern Borno Senatorial District.

It follows a line of deadly attacks in the Chibok region, with dozens killed and others displaced, including Damboa and other Chibok communities.

Communities under siege

The attackers reports say they targeted the village and left destruction behind. The elderly remain trapped in the village amid the chaos, along with many other residents.

A local source recounted the harrowing experience:
“We are much traumatised. And the Boko Haram terrorists resurfaced and continued to wage serious casualties in the Chibok and neighboring communities. ‘We barely escaped into the bush for safety, I and my family,” she said.

The problem remains desperate as displaced families await help while authorities assess the damage.

A broader crisis

Moreover these have not been unfolding only in Chibok. Forty dry season farmers from Gwoza in Baga local government were killed in the Dumba riverine community.

The incidents exposed growing insecurity in Southern Borno where Boko Haram remains targeting vulnerable farming communities with the theft of agricultural produce and fear.

Police Public Relations Officer ASP Kenneth Daso however could not be reached at the time of reporting, on efforts to confirm, or otherwise.
