Kano Governor Suspends Acting Head of Service Over Salary Deductions

Governor Abba Yusuf from Kano State directed the dismissal of acting Head of Service Salisu Mustapha after discovering he withheld salaries from state workers and failed to pay their due wages.

Sunusi Bature as spokesperson affirmed that the governor ordered Mustapha to leave his position so an impartial investigation could proceed regarding the salary issue.

Malam Umar Muhammad Jalo received his appointment as the new acting Head of Service by the governor as administrative stability needed to be achieved before completing the investigation.

Probe committee given seven days to report findings

Governor Yusuf declared that financial misconduct will receive severe penalties against anyone proved responsible. The seven-man committee under Abdulkadir Abdussalam’s leadership needs to determine the salary difference reasons in a time span of seven days.

The acting Head of Service had recently taken office before his suspension occurred after the substantive Head of Service Abdullahi Musa went on medical treatment in India.
