In a statement released on Sunday, the group expressed disappointment in the Senate’s decision, accusing the 10th Senate of moving in the wrong direction.
Led by Alhaji Mustapha Jato, Chairman of the Kogi Central Youth Movement, the group called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio to uphold the dignity of his office and ensure that political decisions align with fairness and justice.
“The reputation of our country should not be dragged down by political maneuvers that lack transparency,” Jato said.
The group praised Akpoti-Uduaghan for her unwavering stance on issues that align with her sense of decency, marital values, and political integrity.
They urged President Bola Tinubu to prioritize gender reforms, emphasizing the need to create a more inclusive political space that supports women’s leadership.

The youths described Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan as a “woman of charm and faith,” commending her for her dedication to the development of Kogi Central.

Highlighting her various initiatives, they applauded her for galvanizing support for social progress and fostering growth in her constituency.
The group also praised her initiative, serious work ethic and dedication to public service, as they believed her suspension represented an attempt to silence a dutiful leader.
According to Vanguard, the group criticized former presidential aide Reno Omokri for what they termed an attempt to divert attention from the truth.
They labeled accusations against Akpoti-Uduaghan as baseless and politically motivated. “Those orchestrating campaigns against her are weak politicians attempting to sow discord,” they said.
Youths call for accountability and gender inclusion
Kogi youths expect politicians in office to show integrity while respecting democratic values through proper behavior.
The group warned that fabricated tales intended to mislead people and distortions that alter political facts must be avoided.
The statement highlighted three essential principles for enduring political challenges which include truth, justice and resilience.
Additionally, they demanded that all parties stop actions which diminish important allegations or separate political groups in the field.
The group maintained absolute backing for Akpoti-Uduaghan as they believed she would conquer all efforts to diminish her political leadership.
