Governor Dauda Lawal has expressed profound grief following the untimely death of Honorable Aminu Kasuwar-Daji, a member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly representing Kauran Namoda South constituency.

The Guardian reports that the lawmaker passed away unexpectedly in his sleep early Wednesday morning at his residence in Kauran Namoda Local Government Area.

In an official statement released Thursday by his spokesperson Sulaiman Idris, Governor Lawal described the deceased as “a committed public servant who dedicated his life to serving his constituents.” The governor extended condolences to the leadership of the state assembly, the people of Kauran Namoda, and the bereaved family.

A high-powered government delegation led by Deputy Governor Mani Mummuni immediately traveled to Kauran Namoda to attend the burial rites in accordance with Islamic traditions.
