  • Book examines party’s successes and failures.
  • Launch set for Owerri on September 30.

Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, will unveil his new book on September 30, offering an insider’s look at the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) decade in charge of Africa’s most populous nation.

The work, titled A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria, tracks the party’s rise since 2015, its challenges, and how its policies have shaped the country.

APC’s decade under review

Commissioner for Information Declan Emelumba said the 10-chapter book will be presented in Owerri, the Imo State capital. The foreword was written by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the party’s former national chairman and ex-governor of Kano State.

Uzodimma describes the book as an “objective” analysis, one that examines how well the APC has lived up to its manifesto. According to him, the text is not public relations material but rather a candid assessment of both achievements and shortcomings.

Insights from within the party

Drawing on his position as head of the Progressive Governors Forum, Uzodimma explores early progressive movements in Nigeria, compares governance before and after the APC’s rise, and documents sectoral achievements over the last 10 years.

He also outlines areas where the party has stumbled and offers ideas for what he calls “progressive governance” going forward. Economic policy, in particular, features prominently in his assessment of the APC’s vision for Nigeria’s future.

Looking ahead

Emelumba said the book provides a useful reference point for APC supporters and critics alike. “It’s a sincere examination of the party’s performance in governance,” he noted.

Uzodimma argues that after 10 years of holding power, the APC must reflect not only on its successes but also on lessons learned to strengthen Nigeria’s democratic path.
