The Lagos State Government has announced partial traffic diversions across major parts of the state ahead of the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

The Lagos State government said the temporary road closures are aimed at ensuring safety and smooth conduct of official activities, including the commissioning of the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge, Tolu Schools Complex, and other critical infrastructure projects.

Traffic Disruptions Expected in Ikeja and Ojota on Wednesday

According to the advisory from the State Government, traffic will be affected on Wednesday, April 8, along the Opebi-Allen, Ikeja, and Ojota corridors. The disruptions are expected to occur between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. during the commissioning of the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge.

Motorists plying these routes during the specified period have been advised to plan alternative routes to avoid delays.

Authorities noted that LASTMA personnel would be stationed along affected routes to direct vehicles and minimize inconvenience.

Later on Thursday, additional traffic advisories will be in effect between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Motorists have been advised to avoid routes around Victoria Island and the Eko Hotel area during this period.

To ease vehicular movement, the government disclosed that more than 500 officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have been deployed across affected locations to manage flow and reduce disruptions.
