Aliko Dangote has secured a second appearance on the TIME100 list, joining the 2026 edition in the “Titans” category as the only Nigerian on this year’s global ranking of the world’s most influential people.

TIME Magazine released the 2026 list on April 15, covering global figures across politics, business, technology and culture. U.S. President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Pope Leo XIV appear among the honorees, alongside technology figures Sundar Pichai and Neal Mohan.

Dangote, founder of Dangote Group, first earned TIME100 recognition in 2014 for contributions to business and philanthropy. The 2026 Dangote TIME100 list entry marks his second appearance on the annual ranking.

TIME cites Africa industrialization and philanthropic work

Meanwhile, TIME noted Dangote’s role in advancing industrialization across Africa through investments in cement, agriculture, food processing, infrastructure and energy. The publication also highlighted his focus on building globally competitive industries using local resources and recent large-scale investments in manufacturing and energy.

Furthermore, TIME recognized Dangote’s philanthropic work through the Aliko Dangote Foundation, which supports initiatives in healthcare, education and economic empowerment.

Vision 2030 maps path to global industrial expansion

Additionally, Dangote Industries Ltd. unveiled “Vision 2030,” a long-term growth plan targeting expanded global operations. Beyond existing businesses in cement, fertilizer and energy, the strategy identifies new investments in steel, power and port infrastructure.

Across other TIME100 categories, the list also features entertainment personalities including Ranbir Kapoor, Dakota Johnson and Kate Hudson. Moreover, the Dangote TIME100 list selection marks renewed global acknowledgment of the group’s expanding industrial footprint across Africa.
