APC Picks Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun as Adeola’s Running Mate in Ogun

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has unveiled Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun as the running mate to Senator Solomon Adeola ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The announcement was made on Sunday during the APC strategic caucus meeting held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, where Governor Dapo Abiodun formally presented the 51-year-old chartered accountant as the party’s deputy governorship candidate.

According to Governor Abiodun, the selection of Adegunwa-Balogun followed wide-ranging consultations with leaders and stakeholders of the ruling party across the state.

A statement issued by Emmanuel Ojo, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, described the deputy governorship candidate as an accomplished finance expert and business leader with more than three decades of experience spanning finance, corporate governance, manufacturing, business transformation and strategic leadership.

Accomplished Academic and Professional Career

Adegunwa-Balogun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Lagos and an MBA in Finance from Bayes Business School, London.

She is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom.

She has also attended executive leadership programmes at Harvard Business School and the Wharton School, further strengthening her credentials in management and governance.

Currently, Adegunwa-Balogun serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director for Finance and Information Technology at Rite Foods Limited.

According to the statement, she has played a significant role in the growth and expansion of the indigenous manufacturing company, helping to strengthen its position within Nigeria’s competitive business environment.

The APC described Adegunwa-Balogun as a strong advocate for women empowerment, youth development, entrepreneurship and institutional excellence.

The party noted that her reputation for integrity, innovation and results-oriented leadership would add value to the ticket and support its vision of inclusive development and economic prosperity in Ogun State.
