  • NLRC receives praises from FG for its economic contributions and regulatory excellence.
  • Growth and Citizen welfare are both a priority, which is why NLRC promotes responsible gaming.
  • The operators have been urged to remit accurately to support national projects.

The efforts of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) for its solid contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth, and good regulation of the gaming and lotto industry have continued to draw praises from the Federal Government.

Zaphaniah Jisalo, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, called for the commendation at the 2024 stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos.

“The NLRC is doing very well. I wouldn’t be here if they weren’t. ’ We maintain full support for their efforts and stand ready to ensure a full and healthy gaming sector,’ the ministry concurred, as quoted by Jisalo.

According to Mr. Lanre Gbajabiamila, Director General of the NLRC, responsible gaming helps attain economic growth and protect citizens. We believe that through collaboration we can help innovate, grow industry while maintaining social responsibility.” It ensures Nigerians trust in the gaming industry and it plays its part in the economy,” he said.

The need for sustainable practices and regulatory advancement is important, and stakeholders should agree to work together to build a strong and trustworthy gaming industry, says Gbajabiamila.

Comrade Toyin Adeyanju, Executive Secretary, National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) said accurate remittances from operators will further help in the expansion of developmental projects throughout the country.

Bearing testament to this is the laudation of the NLRC team by Dr. Maryam Keshinro, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Special Duties, during a recent visit to the NLRC registry by the Federal Government officials.
