Gov Eno: I Expect EFCC Petitions After Leaving Office

Published on

KEY POINTS

  • Governor Eno anticipates EFCC petitions during the period after he steps down from his position.
  • He chooses to reject financial aid to citizens who refuse work because his strategy emphasizes empowerment.
  • He calls attention to malicious attacks that aim to prevent capable leaders from emerging in the state.

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State predicts that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will conduct an investigation after he leaves office and yet he maintains faith in his transparent management style.

The Governor delivered his remarks at the Uyo Township Stadium on Tuesday as he supported hardworking citizens instead of providing money to those who believed government benefits should be theirs.

Gov Eno says No handouts, only support for hard work

Governor Eno condemned people who wanted governmental money without showing any value through work. The governor pledged his administration would give economic means of support instead of “Ghana-must-go” bags to individuals who refused to work.

Eno indicated “The government will only face criticism from people holding entitlement claims who expect to receive ‘Ghana-must-go’ benefits from the governor.”

The distribution of “Ghana-must-go” bags under my administration will not take place. By working with your hands I intend to help you. After my time in office I guarantee to protect the work you carried out because I understand such protection shields you against potential investigations from petitioners and EFCC officials.

Warning against smear campaigns

The political practice of discrediting past leaders constitutes a warninng from Governor Eno. Public officials stay away from political service when a baseless attack culture creates negative impressions about them.

The people from our community prefer to engage in smear campaigns as a regular practice. According to him “the repaying duty we have to leaders is not forcing them into jail after they dedicate their full hearts to serving you,” he stated.

The governor compelled his people to move forward with development activities instead of getting sidetracked by political warfare.

Encouraging accountability and service

Gov Eno expressed his dedication to implement responsible resource management in government as well as establish accountability measures for his administration. After presidency he will stand by his leadership decisions and defend them to the people.

He declared “We will provide backing for such work and observe correct procedures to be ready for any situation.”

The Nigerian leader delivered these comments while the nation faces continuous monitoring of its political leadership because previous officials regularly become subject to corruption investigations.
